Operative Mappings:
In Search of Convergent Systems
.
A study of Houston's Museum District through a series of operative maps. Mobility, ecology, built density, and cultural influence are each translated into graphic systems of points, vectors, gradients, and zones. The maps are not descriptions of the city but analytical instruments through which relationships, concentrations, and spatial effects can be made visible. Read together, they reveal that no system operates in isolation. Conditions generated within one system migrate into others, producing new spatial relationships through overlap, influence, and exchange.
A CONCEPTUAL DESIGN PRACTIVE WORKING ACROSS ARCHITECTURE, SCULPTURE, OBJECT, AND THEORY.
